Ancient Indian Science in Carvings, Explained

We visit historically mysterious, intriguing, places but not always find someone who can describe the actual mystery behind all that we see around. Many a time, even the guide are not well equipped to answer our questions, logically, accurately.

In search of reasonably convincing information on Indian ancient architecture, art forms, history, I happen to find this link quite extensively narrated, making it interesting to the audience to appreciate what we see from what is being explained.

Does it really need hundreds and thousands of years to decipher the hidden codes our ancients left for us in hard rock forms?! That's really something the scholars have to explain.

Here are the few links for you. Now you can re-visit the places with a renewed purpose.

Excellent Guide to Temples in Karnataka

Temples of Karnataka

This photo belongs to Temples of Karnataka website

One the best Temple information site that has taken the creator of this site, years of research to compile extraordinary information. You don't need a guide at the location to describe you the most important aspects of the temples. Just walk through the pages before you decide your tour. Most importantly, temples in India do need proper understanding of architecture, images, deities, and it's cosmic design.

You can send your own writings about temples you visit, more on existing info, or added ones to the Author of the website. Please understand what goes into the content of each place before you can submit your own.

One of the excellent feature of this website is it's Route Planner that provides you various alternate and direct routes to the location in detail.

"TemplesofKarnataka.com is a non profit based website aiming at providing information to the public who are interested in touring these wonderful temples of Karnataka. The scope of this website is limited to the study of temples constructed in the present day, State of Karnataka which is an integral part of Republic of India. The timeline selected here dates from 550 AD to 1800 AD and ranges across temples built under dynasties who ruled Karnataka such as Kadamba, Ganga, Early Calukya, Rashtrakuta, Later Calukya, Hoysala, Vijayanagara, Nayakas, Wodeyars, Palegaras, etc., An effort has been made to give as much information as possible about the temple which includes a brief history, time of construction, people involved in construction or later renovation / structural additions, etc., along with the Cartographic details such as how to approach the temple site. Also an effort is being undertaken in carefully catalogueing the temples based on the school of architecture they belong to and the dynasty under which they were patronized. The main aim of the website is centralized at creating interest in these temples and spreading awareness in protecting the monuments for further generations to come and enlighten more about the rich heritage of India." - (From 'About Us' page)

It is good to always plan coverage of your photography at the temple, edit and save them to let the world know the greatness of these wonderful ancient temples.
